HOW TO SURVIVE LOW TEMPERATURES IN NYFW

I’m a fan of cyber torture. In today’s world it’s almost impossible to avoid information and window shopping hobby also applies to social networks. Are you dying to go to the Oscars red carpet? Go to Snapchat and criticize Jennifer Lawrence’s dress in real time. Want to see Miu Miu fashion show in real time? Take a look at your Instagram and you’ll find tons of images fresh off the runway from your favorite bloggers. And, although I haven’t been to New York Fashion Week to enjoy the snowy views and to wear the best of my closet (including feathers and crazy accessories), I did notice a lot of interesting details that attendees (bloggers, editors, photographers, journalists and some strangers) share on social media, or at least what they want to show me.

Yo salgo en manga corta en la brisa barcelonesa y termino helado./ New York Fashion Week is usually held twice a year: in February to present the Autumn-Winter collections and in September for Spring-Summer. There’s something that really catches my attention, beyond the show and the magnitude of this event: what about those fashionistas that in February are defying nature with just a few layers of clothing and showing legs in the middle of a snowstorm in below-freezing temperatures… How is this possible?! Sometimes I dare to wear just a t-shirt in the Barcelona winter and I end up frozen!

¡ahora todo hace sentido!/ They say you have to suffer to look good, and is quite understandable that if you’re going to Fashion Week your outfits should be prepared in advance; some fashionistas have also told that people often use unsuitable clothing for low temperatures because the Spring-Summer collections (presented in September) begin to be on sale and even tho most of them are not too practical for the weather, well… you have to use, now it all makes sense!

I don’t want to criticize for criticizing, perhaps some day I’ll be in winter for NYFW and I’ll be tempted to wear shorts and show some sking to get more followers on Instagram. Remember, guys! It’s all about mental control, low temperatures are not real if you’re outfit is STUNNING.

A veces no nos importa si la moda es poco práctica, si tus tacones de 900 euros se quedan atascados en la nieve o si salir en sandalias chunky por la vida te provoca neumonía, porque esa foto digna de romper el internet habrá valido la pena./ Sometimes we don’t care if fashion is practical or not, if your 900 euros heels get stuck in the snow just keep going, just keep going! It doesn’t matter if you go out in the middle of a snowstorm wearing your Chloé chunky sandals and you get pneumonia, because that photo of Instagram with 10,000 likes will be amazing and it will break the Internet!
